National Tree Planting Festival
National Tree Planting Festival is held with the participation of people from the whole country in each spring, as a core event of the national land afforestation drive. The festival is attended by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
Their Majesties plant seedlings and sow seeds by hand alongside other participants. Planted seeds are nurtured carefully and grown trees will be transplanted on public land.

National Tree Care Festival
The National Tree Care Festival is held in each autumn to raise awareness that sufficient protection and caring activities are necessary for healthy forests. It is attended by Their Imperial Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Japan.
